Competitive Strengths

We believe that we are well positioned to execute our business strategies successfully because of the following competitive strengths:

  • Our pipeline assets hold strategic market positions and comprise a critical transportation path for natural gas produced in two of North America's most prolific supply basins - Marcellus/Utica and Western Canada Sedimentary Basin.
  • By virtue of the successful operating track record of our assets, we believe they are well positioned to continue to operate as trusted and experienced transportation providers to our customers.
  • The senior management team and the board of directors of our general partner have extensive industry experience and include some of the most senior officers of TransCanada Corporation (TransCanada), our corporate sponsor.  The management team plays a significant role in developing the strategic direction of our pipeline assets and their associated operations.
  • Our ability to grow is enhanced by our affiliation with TransCanada as it allows us the opportunity to participate jointly with them in reviewing potential acquisitions, including transactions that we would be unable to pursue on our own.  Additionally, we may have the opportunity to make acquisitions directly from TransCanada.  TransCanada, however, is under no obligation to allow us to participate in any of its pipeline or energy infrastructure acquisitions, nor is TransCanada required to offer any of its assets to us.
