TC PipeLines, LP Announces Resignation of Garry Mihaichuk
Calgary, Alberta -December 13, 2000 - (Nasdaq NM: TCLPZ) - The board of directors of TC PipeLines GP, Inc., general partner of TC PipeLines, LP, today accepted the resignation of Garry P. Mihaichuk, president and chief executive officer, effective immediately. Mr. Mihaichuk, who currently serves as Executive Vice-President, Engineering and Operations for TransCanada PipeLines Limited, the parent company of the general partner, will also be leaving TransCanada to pursue other opportunities.
Ronald J. Turner is expected to take over as president and chief executive officer of the general partner. Mr. Turner was elected to the general partner's board of directors in April 1999. Mr. Turner, currently Executive Vice-President, International of TransCanada, has also been appointed Executive Vice-President, Engineering and Operations for TransCanada.
"As president and chief executive officer, Garry has been instrumental in meeting the objectives of our unitholders by building TC PipeLines into a strong, competitive limited partnership," said Ron Turner. "We appreciate Garry's contributions to TC PipeLines and wish him success in his future endeavors."
TC PipeLines, LP is a publicly held limited partnership. It owns a 30% interest in Northern Border Pipeline Company, a Texas general partnership, and a 49% interest in Tuscarora Gas Transmission Company, a Nevada general partnership. Northern Border Pipeline owns a 1,214-mile United States interstate pipeline system that transports natural gas from the Montana-Saskatchewan border to markets in the midwestern United States. Tuscarora owns a 229-mile United States interstate pipeline system that transports natural gas from Oregon, where it interconnects with facilities of PG&E Gas Transmission - Northwest, to northern Nevada. TC PipeLines, LP is managed by its general partner, TC PipeLines GP, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of TransCanada PipeLines Limited.
