Our goal is always zero workplace incidents, ensuring our people go home safely every day. While all of our safety statistics stand out in our industry, some of our operations have achieved our zero incidents target in key performance areas over impressively long time spans:
PNGTS has not had a lost time injury in over 17 years and has not had a recordable vehicle incident in over 12 years.
Tuscarora and North Baja have not had a recordable safety incident of any kind since they started operation, in 1995 and 2002 respectively.
The Northern Lakes area of our Great Lakes system has not had a lost time incident in close to 10 years.

We’re always monitoring
24 hours per day, 365 days a year, our Operations Control Centers manage some of the world’s most sophisticated pipeline monitoring technology.
We conduct everything from aerial patrols (using low-flying aircraft and sensitive detection equipment), to geotechnical monitoring and searches for areas where erosion may have washed away the soil covering a pipeline.
In-line inspections are also part of our regular routine. Also known as 'pigging' (Pipeline Inspection Gauge), these inspections use an internal inspection device called a 'smart-pig' to travel the length of a pipeline to collect data to monitor the condition of the pipeline. When an in-line inspection identifies a potential anomaly, investigative digs may also be conducted to expose the anomaly for further inspection and potential repair.
At the first sign of a potential issue or irregularity, control center operators stop pipeline flow within minutes, isolating the issue and helping protect the natural environment.
Working together with fire, police and EMS
TC Energy's Build Strong program supports local first responder organizations by offering the tools and resources communities need to go home safely, every day.
We have supported more than 120 different first responder organizations in TC PipeLines, LP operating regions in the last three years. We find ways to support the needs of each organization, whether it’s communications and rescue equipment, personal protective equipment, training, or vehicle donations.
These important relationships with fire departments, emergency medical services, police stations and search and rescue programs also prepare us, so we can keep our infrastructure safe and respond quickly if needed.
